Paul McAvene -

Mr. McAvene's unlimited talents and capability have allowed him and his
multi-talented staff to design and create a wide range of elements for the
entertainment industry. Anything imaginable, from life size, dancing
elephants, to the finest couture gowns, theatrical sets, props and visual
effects for countless productions.
Paul has two Emmy nominations to his credit. He is also a guest lecturer at The
Pasadena California Art Center, speaking to and mentoring college
art students in the field of entertainment design.
His varied and extensive background began at age 10 when he was first
taught the craft of sewing by his mother, and the ins-and-outs of auto
repair by his father. He jokes, "I was teased for being the only kid
on my block who could rebuild a carburetor and finish a wedding gown in
the same afternoon". From those simple beginnings in Oak Park,
Illinois and over the past 20 years in Los Angeles, Paul, at age 40, has
created a specialty design company in its twelfth successful year.
Mr. McAvene's client list reads as a who's who of Hollywood. His creations
have been worn by Demi Moore, Sandra Bullock, Michelle Phifer, Cindy
Crawford, Prince, Val Kilmner, Dennis Quaid, Billy Crystal, Patti LaBelle,
Robert Downey Jr., Michael Weiss, Don Rickles, Whoopi Goldberg, Jean
Simmons, Arsenio Hall, Mark Hammil, Pierce Brosnan, Garth Brooks, Martin
Short, Heather Locklear, and not to mention, Miss Piggy.
Paul's recent credits include: Dora the Explorer Live! A
touring musical theatrical production of the Nichalodian animated
childrens T.V. series, The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies at
the Plaza Theatre in Palm Springs, California; Greg the Bunny,
a half hour primetime T.V. series for the Fox network, featuring dozens of
puppets; The feature film, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back; Five
Disney on Ice shows currently on tour in North America and Europe;
The Lance Burton Show, at the Monte Carlo Hotel in Las
Vegas; as well as creating the first ground-breaking interactive
children's show called The Wahoo Wagon, at the El Capitan
Theatre in Hollywood.
Highlights of Mr. McAvene's past credits include: the primetime T.V.
series - Dark Shadows and Muppets Tonight;
feature films- Chaplin, Mr. Magoo and Cool World;
and Universal Studios Florida's live theme park attraction, King Kong.
